"Thriving on Change" has been a consistent theme in Jim Aylward's career having successfully completed 7 major business transformations ranging from start-ups, market re-positionings, acquisitions, leveraged buyouts to wholesale turnarounds. Through these experiences he has acquired a deep understanding of the issues that companies, teams and individuals face to bring about meaningful change and the processes required for successful implementation.
With Jim's leadership and operational background in manufacturing, service and logistics industries, he has developed a breadth and depth of experience in both strategy execution and effective change implementation. While a strategic thinker, he is always pragmatic and has a "hands on" approach to execution - ensuring that the people who will be living with the result are consulted with and involved in the process.
"My philosophy, to quote Thomas Edison, is that 'Vision without execution is a hallucination.'" By understanding what it takes for teams to embrace change, Jim works closely with companies and teams to help them achieve sustainable improvements.
Jim has a MBA from the Richard Ivey school of Business at the University of Western Ontario.
He lives in Toronto, Canada with his wife Cindy and their dog Buster. An avid golfer who is "constantly changing" his swing, Jim also enjoys skiing, tennis and spending time at their cottage on Lake Huron.
